Manager, Revenue Accounting

Leads the Revenue Accounting team. Owns accurate, timely accounting of all passenger and ancillary revenue, and moves the function from manual reconciliation to automated, system-based processes.
Responsibilities
Leadership
Lead and develop the RA team: set objectives, allocate and review work, build capability.
Own the month-end close timetable and the quality of all RA output.
Lead the team through change and build a culture of control and continuous improvement.
Revenue accounting and control
Oversee sales audit and reconciliation across all channels: web, mobile, call centre, agents, GDS/BSP, payment gateways.
Recognise passenger and ancillary revenue under IFRS 15, including flown revenue, no-shows, breakage and expired tickets.
Reconcile the air traffic liability (unearned transportation revenue) every month.
Manage BSP and agent settlements, refunds, chargebacks and EMDs.
Make sure ticket taxes, fees and VAT are accounted for and reconciled correctly.
Deliver the month-end revenue journals, reconciliations and management reporting.
Support external audit and keep revenue controls documented.
Change and automation
Map current processes and deliver a roadmap to cut manual work.
Automate the PSS, payment gateway, BSP and GL interfaces, with automated matching and exception reporting.
Lead the requirements, selection and implementation of a revenue accounting system (RAS).
Build revenue KPIs and dashboards: close days, match rate, unreconciled balances, refund cycle time.
Scale the function for fleet growth, including the B737 MAX introduction.
Collaboration
Resolve revenue differences at source with Commercial, RM, Distribution, IT and Treasury.
Requirements
Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics. ACCA, CPA, CIMA or DipIFR preferred.
6+ years in accounting or finance, including 3+ in airline revenue accounting and 2+ managing a team.
Strong IFRS 15 and airline revenue knowledge: flown vs sales-based revenue, air traffic liability, BSP, EMDs, breakage.
A proven record of delivering automation or system implementation (RAS, ERP, PSS interfaces, reconciliation tools), with examples.
Advanced Excel, ERP/GL (1C an advantage) and BI tools (Power BI or similar). SQL or scripting an advantage.
LCC or hybrid-carrier experience preferred.
A change leader who challenges existing processes and delivers independently.
Fluent English and Russian; Kazakh an advantage.
