we are partnering with a pioneering industry leader in the gaming and systems development sector. our customer designs and delivers premium game content, award-winning systems, and state-of-the-art gaming hardware, providing world-class gaming experiences globally. the project involves working across a distributed portfolio of applications, focusing on implementing quality engineering best practices, improving qa efficiency, and extending automated test coverage.

the role:

• we are seeking a detail-oriented mid automation test engineer to join our team to work directly on our customer’s gaming project. reporting to the lead automation engineer / test automation manager, you will help build, maintain, and improve the automated framework across the customer's portfolio of applications.
• in this role, you will focus on quality engineering best practices, learn from cross-functional teams, develop automated test suites, and support the integration of automation processes into ci/cd pipelines.

key responsibilities:

• automation development & maintenance: design, write, and maintain automated test cases using industry-leading frameworks and tools.

• defect analysis & investigation: analyze test results, identify defects, investigate test failures efficiently, and provide detailed reports and timely feedback to technology teams and stakeholders.

• code reviews & best practices: participate in regular code reviews and adopt best practices in coding, automation design, and quality engineering.

• ci/cd & agile ceremonies: support the integration of automation suites into ci/cd processes and actively participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives).

• cross-functional collaboration: collaborate with development and qa teams to clarify project requirements, ensure adequate test coverage, and contribute to team documentation and knowledge bases.

skills / experience:

• automation experience: practical experience automating tests with tools such as selenium, appium, gamebench, testcomplete, or similar.

• programming & scripting: essential programming and scripting skills (java).

• agile methodologies: clear understanding of agile/scrum methodologies and iterative software development lifecycle.

• qa tools: basic experience with test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., jira, testrail).

• soft skills: strong problem-solving ability, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills.

• education: bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.

nice to haves:

• certifications: certifications in software testing or automation (e.g., istqb).

• ci/cd practices: familiarity with ci/cd practices and pipeline tools.

• multi-project environments: exposure to working in cross-team, multi-project work environments.
