qualification requirements:

bachelor of science degree in welding engineering or a closely related field, and related membership of a recognised professional body.

6-8 years’ experience in welding/inspection/maintenance activities in the specific area of competences.

applies specialized knowledge in welding inspection and control within the production and technical operations department to develop processes, procedures, and local capabilities related to all aspects of welding engineering activities. ensures establishment, implementation and control of welding strategies and standards, welding process control and audit system for both onshore and offshore facilities as well as all pipelines of the kashagan field. provides technical support during maintenance and repair activities, and delivers expert advice on new projects

experienced in providing advice, facilitation, and training on the development, administration, and technical aspects of an organization’s welding, inspection and quality systems or improvement efforts at all levels. qa/qc competencies and familiarity with iso9001 architecture

good communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to make presentations, prepare training materials and write effective reports

fluently written and spoken english skills

in-depth working knowledge of asme section ix. a working knowledge of nace mr0175 and aws d1.1.

proven technical expertise in associated ndt and inspection processes related to welding of a wide range of materials common in oil and gas industry (carbon steel, corrosion resistant alloys, etc).

develops methodologies and technical requirements for testing, qualification of welders, and inspection of welded joints

conducts internal and external audits of welding operations to verify compliance with company and national standards and requirements.
